Roca Junyent promotes Roger Pla and Enric Moret to partners

• The promotions express the firm’s decision to strengthen internal talent and offer career opportunities
• Lawyers Carlos Blanco and Marlen Estévez have been promoted to equity partners of the firm

Barcelona, 10 February 2020 – Roca Junyent has made a strong bet for internal talent with four outstanding promotions that showcase the potential of the firm’s current team.

Roger Pla, Senior Associate of the Real Estate department has been promoted to partner. Pla has extensive experience and knowledge in disciplines related to the revolution that the industry is facing as a result of technological advancement and new ways of working (coworking) and living (coliving). He also has experience in negotiating and contracting processes and in the counselling of real estate transactions. Throughout his career, he has advised and represented real estate companies and national and international investment funds in both the design of their investments and in the tender and acquisition of public real estate assets.

Likewise, Enric Moret, until now senior partner of the tax department, has been promoted as partner. With over 15 years of experience in providing advice and consulting of business groups nationally and internationally. Moret has participated in business restructuring operations as well as trade and foreign capital investments in Spain. With this promotion, the firm continues to strengthen the tax department, which previously incorporated the partner Raúl Salas and its senior team, tax litigation partner Joan Iglesias and the integration of the boutique tax firm, Segarra de Figarolas.

In addition, Roca Junyent has also promoted partners Carlos Blanco and Marlen Estévez, who as of January 1st have been equity partners. Thus, Blanco will continue to boost the M&A and Commercial through his extensive experience in company law advice of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), stock market listing and MAB, amongst others.

Marlen Estévez will continue to develop the Arbitration department, which she leads. Estévez has extensive experience in the resolution of disputes. Throughout her career, she has lead companies from all sectors in both domestic and international legal disputes, in administrative courts and arbitrary tribunals.
 

Internal Changes

Roca Junyent reinforces international department with the inclusion of Xavier Costa, M&A and Commercial Partner and Chairman of International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA).  Until now, Anna Viladàs, Intellectual Property Partner and Officer of the International network Terralex and Santi Pagés, M&A and commercial partner and Latam Desks Manager, integrated the department.

Likewise, Xavier Costa y Xavier Altirriba, M&A and comercial partners in Barcelona will take on the management to boost its growth.
