26/06/2024

The jury of the Pelayo Prize has awarded the prize for the 30th edition to Miquel Roca Junyent, for his long and fruitful career in the legal field and his great contribution to Spanish society.

After successive votes, among the 22 candidates presented for this year's Pelayo Award, the Jury has chosen Miquel Roca Junyent, for his extraordinary career linked to the world of justice, from where he always promoted the values of the State and highlighted the role of business and institutions in our society.

For the president of the Jury, Tomás de la Quadra-Salcedo Fernández del Castillo, this choice consolidates the objectives highlighted by this initiative, in which the values of the legal professions in any of their fields are promoted, appreciating both the dedication of jurists and the values that, from the University, society, business, judicial institutions or liberal practice, are considered of interest to the Community.

The Jury of the Award is made up of prominent members of the academic world, of the most relevant legal institutions in our country and of some of the largest international law firms. Among them is Victoria Ortega Benito, President of the General Council of Spanish Lawyers.

The award ceremony will take place next November 2024 in a ceremony that will be attended by the illustrious members of the Jury, as well as by prominent personalities linked to the world of justice.
