The possible unconstitutionality of the Wealth Tax would open the door to its reform or its repeal

Our partners Manuel José Silva, State attorney on leave of absence, the prosecutor Jordi Guarch and the attorney Susana Rodríguez prepared and submitted last Wednesday a report to the Ombudsman, who forwarded it to the CEOE leadership, in order for said entity to file an appeal of unconstitutionality of the wealth tax.

In this report they analyse the wealth tax, concluding that, as it is configured, it does not make much sense: “we are the only EU country that keeps it operational, perhaps only for collection purposes, as a tribute ceded to the Autonomous Communities. In the common system, only the Community of Madrid does not charge it”.
