The difficult achievement of the 2030 Agenda

In September 2015, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the 2030 Agenda, which set out the 17 Sustainable Development Goals as a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity, with the intention of strengthening universal peace and access to justice.

UN Member States, in adopting the 2030 Agenda, committed to mobilise the means necessary for its implementation through partnerships with a special focus on the needs of the poorest and most vulnerable.

Companies are key and essential agents for the fulfilment of these objectives and, in view of this, since 2015, at European and also national level, a series of regulations are being approved to facilitate, among others, sustainable investments and the creation of companies with the commitment to pursue a specific social or environmental purpose.

Lourdes Amigó de Bonet, Associate Director of ESG and Corporate Sustainability at RocaJunyent, analyses the agents involved in the paralysis of the evolution of these regulations, which is basic and essential for them to have the expected effect, which is none other than to bring us closer to the fulfilment of the 2030 Agenda.
